Woman Perishes During Video Chat with Spouse; Police Report the Incident in Uttar Pradesh
In Gorakhpur during the late hours of Friday, a heartbreaking incident unfolded as a 28-year-old woman identified as Khushi died by suicide, reportedly during a video call with her husband who is residing in Saudi Arabia.
The tragic incident unfurled around 10:30 pm in the area of Piprauli, under the supervision of the GIDA police station.
Khushi was a native of Siwan, Bihar, and married Nadeem Ansari from Purana Gola in Bansgaon four years prior. Due to the unique circumstances of their interfaith union, the couple resided in a rented home in Piprauli.
According to Circle Officer Ratneshwar Singh, the incident commenced when Khushi, following putting their son Asif to bed, initiated a video call with Nadeem. A heated argument between the couple is said to have ensued, culminating with the disconnection of the call at 10:59 pm.
Immediately upon receiving the news from Nadeem, a neighbor rushed to the family's residence, only to discover the victim hanging from a hook in the ceiling. But by this time, their child had remained oblivious to the horrific incident and was peacefully slumbering.
Police officers were duly informed, and after gaining entry into the residence, they recovered Khushi's lifeless body. The body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination, with a comprehensive investigation currently underway.
This incident has raised questions regarding the factors that may have contributed to Khushi's unfortunate demise, and the potential role her interfaith marriage may have played in the tragedy is under deliberation.
