A Baby Makes an Exit on the Federal Highway
- *
Well, that's one for the road! A woman brought a new life into this world on the backseat of her car, cruising along the Federal Highway 42 near Wiesbaden. The little tyke and mama bear are doing swell, as reported by the Wiesbaden fire department. The proud papa got some guidance over the phone from the emergency control center.
The dispatcher at the control center walked the new daddy through the delivery using a "structured query protocol." Showing remarkable patience amongst the bustling traffic, he positioned his wife on the backseat and tidily followed instructions. The fire department shared the details of the unique delivery.
A Wailing Welcome
"It only took three minutes from the start of the phone call to the arrival of our little girl," the fire department explained. "Her first loud cry eased the tension: mom and baby were in great shape." The 29-year-old mom and dad were on a ride from Rüdesheim to a Wiesbaden clinic last Thursday afternoon when the baby decided to take an early exit.
