Town of Orihuela gains ownership of Correntías Medical Clinic
The Orihuela Town Council has finalised the purchase of the Correntías Medias Medical Clinic, marking a significant investment in public health and safety. The acquisition, which cost €89,480, eliminates rental costs and generates savings for the Town Hall [1][2].
The Council's commitment to upgrading public health services is evident in their plans to completely renovate the clinic. The renovation aims to modernise the facility and enhance the quality of medical care provided to the community [2]. This project is part of a broader effort by the Council to invest in public amenities and improve local infrastructure.
The renovation project is being drafted by the Department of Health of Orihuela, and construction is set to begin soon. The reform project includes a total renovation of the clinic to offer better healthcare infrastructure. The Clinic, which was not previously property of the municipality, will be available for both residents and medical personnel upon completion.
The Ministry of Health has also allocated €1.6 million to the Vega Baja Hospital for infrastructure improvement. This investment will ensure that the hospital receives new equipment to ensure patient safety and treatment efficacy.
Councillor of Health and the driving force behind the acquisition, has expressed his satisfaction with the deal, considering it excellent news for the town. Mayor Pepe Vergara shares this sentiment, stating that the acquisition is another significant health investment for Orihuela.
