In a bid to instill healthy habits from an early age, AOK in Ingolstadt is once again backing local primary schools with the school program Klasse2000 this academic year. The initiative, which focuses on various aspects of healthy living, is now being implemented in grades 1a and 1b at the Pestalozzi Street Primary School in Ingolstadt.

The Klasse2000 program, designed specifically for primary school children, aims to foster a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle that can last a lifetime. The program encompasses topics like healthy eating, regular exercise, relaxation, and responsible conflict resolution. By nurturing these habits early on, the program seeks to help children develop into well-rounded, confident individuals who are equipped to handle life's challenges.

The program kicked off with a sponsorship certificate handover by Ulrich Resch from AOK Ingolstadt to Iris Lechner, the deputy head of the school. Iris Lechner expressed her delight at the preventive expertise coming onboard, our regular visitors who would enrich the school's learning environment.

In addition to lesson plans and supporting materials, students, parents, and teachers can also utilize the learning website www.klaro-labor.de. Last year, the Klaro app was introduced, which offers suggestions for movement breaks, relaxation stories, and other tips from the Klasse2000 program, all designed for interactive learning.

On a bigger scale, AOK is funding 400 new sponsorships of the school program Klasse2000 across Bavaria this year. With over 2,100 primary school classes and more than 46,600 children nationwide now enrolled, AOK stands as the largest individual sponsor of the program. The program begins in the first grade and extends through the fourth grade, with AOK financing up to two classes per grade and school per year.

The Klasse2000 program is integrated into the school curriculum and broader school life. Schools participating in the program must ensure that at least 75% of their classes from grades 1 to 4 partake in the initiative. It is crucial that health promotion plays a significant role not only in lessons but also in the overall school environment, with many schools offering additional health-promoting activities alongside the program.

By financing the Klasse2000 program, AOK is supporting schools in implementing the program and maintaining its activities focused on promoting healthy habits in primary school students. This partnership contributes to the sustained implementation and success of the program, ultimately leading to healthier lifestyles in primary schools.
