Sheffield Named Trailblazer for £300m Family Hubs Scheme
Sheffield councillors are thrilled to be selected as a trailblazer for the new Family Support Hubs scheme. The initiative aims to support families and children, tackling common issues and fostering strong relationships. Backed by a £300m investment, the scheme will benefit 75 areas across the UK by 2025.
The Family Support Hubs scheme, championed by government minister Bridget Phillipson, will provide 'one stop shops' offering mental health support, parenting classes, and guidance on infant feeding. Each trailblazer area, like Sheffield, will receive extra funding and support to enhance these services. The scheme is part of a larger £500 million investment to roll out up to a thousand Best Start Family Support Hubs this parliament.
Sheffield joins 13 other trailblazer areas, including Torbay and Manchester. The scheme is set to support children up to the age of 19, extending to 25 for those with special needs and disabilities.
The Family Support Hubs scheme, with its £300m investment, is poised to make a significant impact across 75 areas by 2025. Sheffield, as a trailblazer, is set to benefit from extra funding and support, offering comprehensive services to strengthen families and children.
