Revolutionizing our digital landscape: Unveiling our transformed service offering
In light of a review of its magazine business, the independently operated publishing division of the national science agency has opted to terminate the production of Cosmos Magazine as of June 2025. This decision affects both print and digital subscriptions, which will conclude in June of the same year. Subscribers will be offered refunds for their remaining subscription term, details of which are provided below.
The Cosmos online news service will persist on our website, transitioning later in the year to CSIRO Publishing's new digital destination for science content. This platform, set to launch later in the year, will present peer-reviewed journals, e-books, and fact-based science news, aiming to unite our audiences toward a sustainable future. A dedicated news team will continue to publish articles highlighting the latest scientific discoveries and interviews with scientists.
We encourage readers to sign up for Cosmos newsletters to stay updated on these developments. This move mirrors a wider trend of audiences shifting away from print magazines and the increasing costs associated with print magazine production.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to the writers, staff, and readers who have supported Cosmos Magazine throughout the years. For more information regarding subscription refunds, please refer to the following guidelines:
- If you purchased your subscription directly from our publishing partner using a credit card, the card owner's account will be credited for the balance of your subscription.
- If you purchased your subscription through the Royal Institution of Australia prior to June 2024, contact us at [email protected] or call 1300 788000 to arrange a refund.
