Rapper Lil Nas X seeks treatment in rehab, facing numerous felony allegations
Rapper Lil Nas X, known for his hit songs like 'Old Town Road,' has checked into an inpatient treatment facility for mental health issues, causing a delay in the release of his upcoming album Dreamboy. The 26-year-old artist was arrested last month in Los Angeles following an incident in a hotel, where he was accused of running naked through a hallway and engaging in a scuffle with the police.
The court hearing, held in Los Angeles, saw Lil Nas X's attorneys appear on his behalf. During the hearing, the judge modified the terms of his arrest to allow him to seek treatment. The person seeking treatment is, in fact, Lil Nas X himself.
Lil Nas X faces four felony counts, including three for battery causing injury to a police officer and one for resisting arrest. His bail remains at $75,000. Despite the legal issues, his defense lawyer, Drew Findling, assured the judge that the musician is committed to getting better and moving on.
Sources close to Lil Nas X have stated that fame has been tough on him. His father, too, has expressed concern about the impact of his fame on his mental health. The album Dreamboy, initially scheduled to follow a spring mixtape meant to build hype, has yet to receive an updated release date.
The treatment facility where Lil Nas X is receiving care is located out of state and confidential. There has been no update on the status of his mental health treatment. The next court appearance for Lil Nas X is set for November 18.
In the meantime, fans of Lil Nas X can look forward to his upcoming music, with hopes that he will emerge stronger and healthier from this challenging period.
