Liz McClarnon's Long Road to Motherhood
User's lengthy journey to conception - Prospective parents' prolonged trek towards conception
Hey there! Let's talk about Liz McClarnon, the cheeky singer from Atomic Kitten, and her journey to motherhood that's been more of a rollercoaster ride than a walk in the park. She's 44 now, and you guessed it—she's pregnant with her first kid! But, as you'll see, getting here hasn't been a breeze.
Spilling the Tea to The MirrorMcClarnon sat down with the Mirror, where she opened up about her struggles conceiving. With her husband Pete, whom she hitched in 2023 after meeting him in 2021, they dived headfirst into IVF early on. Unfortunately, they suffered three miscarriages in 2024, following three unsuccessful embryo transfers the year before.
Post-Christmas Try Again
McClarnon shared that it was Pete's unwavering support that kept her going after their last miscarriage: "He was my rock, and I felt like giving up after that last miscarriage. But he said, 'Babe, it's your body, and I'll support whatever you decide.' That meant the world to me."
Christmas was a turning point for the couple. Spending it with family and loved ones rejuvenated McClarnon and gave her the necessary push for another shot at motherhood.
Miracle Babies
McClarnon now views pregnancy as nothing short of a miracle: "The whole process shows me just how incredible it is for someone to get pregnant and have a healthy baby. It takes a lot of things going right."
Her pregnancy announcement came in an emotional Instagram video in May. Initial hesitation and doubts about her baby bump gave way to excitement, as McClarnon shared her secret with fans. "I've been going through IVFborne challenges, but here we are! I'm pregnant!"
Overflowing Love
McClarnon's fans and fellow singers were delighted by the news. Bandmate Jenny Frost gushed, "The best news ever! You've been through a lot, girl, but you never lost faith. This little miracle means everything!" Natasha Hamilton commented, "I couldn't be happier for you both! After everything you've been through, this baby is a blessing."
McClarnon admits that she didn't expect such an outpouring of love: "I just thought I should probably post it before someone else mentions it. I'm still in the 'Is that a baby bump or just a big belly?' phase, but it was only a matter of time!"
I'm not going to say that I'm not emotional about the journey my science-backed health-and-wellness treatments have taken for women's health, especially since my own experience with IVF. The support I've received from the scientific community and fellow women, like my bandmates, has been nothing short of miraculous.
