Mental health application, Oasis, debuts from tech company CAPS

The Oasis mental health app, a revolutionary resource now available to students at Holy Cross, offers a comprehensive approach to mental health support. This app provides access to over 200 articles and videos available 24/7, catering to individual needs[1].

Oasis is not a clinical mental health treatment but a supplemental resource accessible via an app or computer. It aims to offer convenient, confidential, and immediate support to reduce stress and promote growth in students[1].

One of the key features of Oasis is its Support Counseling service, allowing students to schedule same-day appointments for confidential conversations with a trained Support Counselor[1]. Additionally, the app offers text support chats with professionally trained counselors 24/7.

Students can proactively manage their mental health through the app's mood monitoring feature, tracking their emotional well-being[1]. Oasis also personalizes content with advice, exercises, and tips tailored to preferences. It includes guided meditation, relaxation, and mindfulness exercises to help students manage stress and improve their mental well-being.

The app uses self-assessments and smart suggestions based on mood and interests to tailor content and on-demand courses addressing mental health and wellbeing topics[1]. This personalized and evidence-based content aims to build stress tolerance, growth mindsets, and self-efficacy in students.

Moreover, Oasis integrates with campus counseling centers to provide brief interventions and psychoeducation, aiming to eliminate wait times and reduce counseling caseloads[1]. The app also offers analytics and customization for institutions to monitor and adapt services.

In addition to the mental health resources, the Holy Cross community recently held a Thrift Shop event on October 28, 2024. This event, organised by HerCampus and Eco-Action, provided students with an opportunity to donate clothing on October 23 and October 24[2].

As for campus life, Viveca Stucke '26 and Paige Thomson '26 have personalized their room in Lehy 420. The light blue tones of Viveca's side complement the overall space[3]. Sarah Obrycki '26, the Resident Assistant (RA) for Lehy 3 Upper, oversees the living environment.

Meanwhile, Caroline Kramer '26 wrote about "Peep My Crib: Lehy 420" in a recent article[3]. Viveca Stucke '26 is also featured in "Peep My Crib: Lehy 3".
