2nd Vidzeme Brigade of the National Guard Conducts Medical Training for Conflict Resolution
The 2nd Vidzeme Brigade of the National Guard is enhancing their medical skills in handling conflict resolution, conducting a two-day training session from April 7 to 8 near their Kaugurmuiža military base in Valmiera.
During this training, the members of the Brigade's Medical Company will focus on improving their theoretical and practical knowledge in providing medical assistance in conflict situations. This training is a crucial part of their preparations to be well-equipped to handle any medical emergencies that may arise during a conflict.
In a military conflict, the role of the medical company is to receive victims from the battlefield, stabilize their health, and transport them to civilian medical institutions. This collaborative approach is essential in ensuring the best possible care for those injured in conflict.
The training will take place in partnership with Vidzeme Hospital and Cēsis Hospital, who have joined forces with the Medical Command of the 2nd Vidzeme Brigade of the National Guard. This collaboration will provide the troops with valuable insights into the workings of civilian medical institutions and the specific needs that may arise during a conflict.
It is worth noting that no ammunition or simulation equipment will be used during the training. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of the public and the troops involved. After the training, the training sites will be cleaned up, as promised by the National Armed Forces.
During their training, troops of the 2nd Vidzeme Brigade will move along public and forest roads. Members of the Medical Company also work in various civilian medical institutions, including Vidzeme Hospital, the Emergency Medical Service, and private practices. This experience in the civilian medical sector will undoubtedly prove beneficial during their training and in any potential conflict situations.
This training is a testament to the 2nd Vidzeme Brigade's commitment to being prepared for any eventuality and their dedication to providing the best possible care for those in need during conflict resolution.
