Ludlow City Adopts Smoke-Free Regulation Across Entire Municipality, Following Suit of Bellevue, Dayton, and Highland Heights
In a commendable move towards prioritising the health and well-being of its citizens, the Ludlow City Council has passed a citywide ordinance that prohibits smoking on Ludlow city property, in enclosed public spaces, and places of employment.
This decision, led by Mayor Chris Wright, follows a trend set by neighbouring cities such as Bellevue, Dayton, and Highland Heights, who introduced similar bans in the last two years. Beyond Northern Kentucky, Ludlow joins other Kentucky cities such as Lexington, London, Louisville, and Morehead in enacting smoke-free ordinances.
The ordinance is designed to build a brighter and healthier Ludlow for all citizens. It aims not only to improve overall health but also to boost the city's economic status. Garren Colvin, president and CEO of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, applauded Ludlow for mirroring the commitments of other Northern Kentucky communities in passing a smoke-free ordinance.
The new regulation is similar to those passed in Bellevue, Dayton, and Highland Heights, and it is expected to have a significant impact on the community's health and the city's economic growth. The Ludlow City Council's dedication to the community's health is evident in this proactive step, and it marks a significant milestone in the city's journey towards a healthier and more prosperous future.
