LifeSciKY Hires Amelia Wares as Executive Operations Fellow

LifeSciKY, a nonprofit lab incubator with a mission to establish Kentucky as a nationally recognised hub for life sciences innovation, has announced the hiring of Amelia Wares as its Executive Operations Fellow.

Located in the OneNKY Center, LifeSciKY offers critical resources to early-stage life sciences companies, including sponsored lab benches, coworking membership, and a platform for nominating startups to broader industry recognition events. The 15,000 square-foot facility is preparing to open its brand-new life sciences lab later this year, and it is welcoming its first lab residents.

Amelia Wares, a biomedical engineering student at the University of Cincinnati, will support high-level strategy, community engagement, and entrepreneurial initiatives at LifeSciKY. Dr. Christin Godale, the Executive Director, expressed excitement about Wares joining the team. "Amelia brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to LifeSciKY," said Godale. "We are thrilled to have her on board as we continue to support the growth of life sciences innovation in Kentucky."

Wares, who has experience in clinical research and medical device startups, was drawn to LifeSciKY's commitment to educating and empowering the next generation of talent. She is also the founder of TissuTrak, a digital health app designed to support people managing chronic illness.

Amelia Wares will be a trusted resource for Lab Residents at LifeSciKY and will assist with day-to-day operations. She will also work closely with the community, engaging with local organizations like New Riff Distilling, Blue North, and St. Elizabeth Healthcare, which are partners in LifeSciKY's fundraising efforts.

Amelia Wares expressed her excitement about LifeSciKY being a dynamic hub for innovation in Northern Kentucky. "I am thrilled to join the LifeSciKY team and contribute to the growth of life sciences innovation in Kentucky," said Wares. "I look forward to working with the Lab Residents, the LifeSciKY community, and local partners to create a supportive and collaborative environment for entrepreneurs."

LifeSciKY's website (LifeSciKY.com) provides information about the organization and Lab Residency applications. SparkHaus, another resource available near LifeSciKY, offers coworking space and resources for startups and entrepreneurs.
