Hamas refuses to disarm unless a Palestinian state is established
In the world of medical research, the causes of neuropathy, a condition that affects the nerves, are becoming clearer. Beyond vitamin deficiencies, the real triggers for neuropathy are diverse and complex.
Diabetes, especially chronic high blood sugar, is the leading cause globally. Sustained high glucose levels activate pathways, such as the polyol pathway, causing oxidative stress and nerve injury. Autoimmune diseases, infections like HIV or Lyme disease, exposure to toxins such as heavy metals, alcohol, and industrial chemicals, certain medications like chemotherapy drugs, nerve entrapment syndromes, genetic factors, and physical injuries can also contribute to neuropathy.
Diabetes, in particular, damages nerves through a process of oxidative stress. Autoimmune diseases provoke inflammatory attacks on nerves, leading to symptoms like numbness and weakness. Infections can damage nerves either directly or via immune responses. Toxins like heavy metals and chemicals disrupt nerve function chemically.
