Attorney Max Richardson's life was saved by swift and effective first response efforts, culminating in a heart surgery. A special ceremony was held to honour the responders who played a crucial role in his survival.
Richardson, a Gwinnett County attorney, collapsed during a swearing-in ceremony, suffering cardiac arrest. His heart stopped beating, and medical professionals initially thought he had died. Bodycam footage captured first responders immediately initiating continuous high-quality CPR and using an AED, which proved vital in reviving him.
Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services arrived four minutes later, transporting Richardson to the hospital. Following the incident, Richardson underwent a 5-bypass surgery, further ensuring his survival. Every step in the chain of survival, from the initial CPR to the surgery, played a crucial role in saving his life.
Richardson, now recovered, attended a ceremony with his wife to personally thank the first responders who saved his life. The event recognised their swift actions and dedication, highlighting the importance of their role in the community.
