Fundraising Event in Dusseldorf Raises €90,000 for Children's Hospice Services by Biker4kids

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Biker4kids team has successfully raised approximately €1.3 million for the Ambulant Children and Youth Hospice Service (AKHD) since 2008.

The core team of around 30 dedicated members not only organizes the annual motorcycle parade but also participates in various events throughout the year, collecting donations for the AKHD with their donation boxes. The Biker4kids team's efforts culminated in a grand motorcycle parade on May 10th, which saw over 2000 participants.

The special fund raised by Biker4kids is used to support families outside of Düsseldorf, as the Verein VdFU's charter only allows for individual support within the city. The VdFU, a charity founded by Biker4kids ten years ago, provides financial aid for individual needs and heartfelt wishes that are often not covered by the AKHD's charter.

The Biker4kids recently donated an additional 25,000 euros to the Verein VdFU, and 5,000 euros to the special fund. These donations have significantly contributed to the services provided by the VdFU, such as dog therapy, ambulance transportation, medication, music, activities for siblings, and assistance with funeral costs.

One of the beneficiaries of the VdFU, Morena, personally thanked the Biker4kids after undergoing dolphin-assisted swimming therapy and enjoying the festival in Langenfeld with her family. The celebration took place on Wednesday, June 25th, at the grill area in the Freizeitpark Langfort in Langenfeld, with Robert Rademacher, the 85-year-old manager of the Automeile Höherweg, serving as the guest of honour.

The parade took place on the Auto Mile on Höherweg and ended at the Rhine meadows. During the event, a total of 90,000 euros were raised, which were distributed to three causes: AKHD Düsseldorf, Verein der Freunde und Unterstützer der Kinderhospizarbeit Düsseldorf, and the special fund.

Petra Kiwitt, the managing director of the German Children and Youth Hospice Service, expressed her gratitude to the Biker4kids for their dedication. Since 2008, the Biker4kids have donated a total of 520,000 euros to the AKHD Düsseldorf, making a significant difference in the lives of many families.

Science and health-and-wellness are both aspects significantly supported by the Biker4kids team's fundraising efforts. Whether it's providing financial aid for individual needs like medication and activities for siblings, or contributing to programs like dolphin-assisted swimming therapy, the team's donations play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being of children and families.
