His wife Maria Fernanda had lost their second child in the fourth month of pregnancy, a loss that would have completed their family's happiness. Their son Dominique (4) stood to gain a sibling, but the loss was too much for Torsten to bear. He sought solace in alcohol, spiraling into a relapse.

As his life spun out of control, Torsten recognized he needed help. Divorced and granted sole custody of Dominique "in the first half of 2024," Torsten admitted, "My life was a whirlwind of emotions and complicated situations."
Reaching rock bottom, Torsten sought professional help, driven by his love for his son. He now hopes that by overcoming his addiction, he'll be setting an example for Dominique, avoiding the same fate as his father.
