UNITED SIKHS Aids in Punjab Flood Relief Efforts

In the wake of the devastating floods in Punjab, humanitarian organisation UNITED SIKHS has launched a comprehensive response strategy to aid those affected by the crisis.

As part of their efforts, UNITED SIKHS is focusing on delivering essential supplies, medical assistance, and rebuilding efforts to help stabilise and improve the situation in the region. The international nonprofit organisation, affiliated with the United Nations, is committed to upholding human dignity, promoting religious freedom, and advancing equity for all.

The organisation's work is guided by the principle of seva (selfless service), and they are currently deploying their Jammu-based relief team to conduct fogging operations in Punjab. These operations, aimed at reducing the risk of mosquito and fly-borne illnesses, are being carried out in heavily affected villages and institutions such as Dera Baba Nanak Gurdwara Sahib, Government Primary Smart School, Deriwal Kiran, and Shaheed Major Bhagat Singh Government Senior Secondary School, Kala Nangal, among others.

Moninder Singh, Humanitarian Aid & Disaster Relief National at UNITED SIKHS, has emphasised the importance of disaster response upholding the dignity and health rights of individuals. The team is using specialized fogging equipment to disinfect key public areas.

UNITED SIKHS continues to collaborate with local authorities, schools, and faith-based institutions to assess on-ground needs in Punjab. As the recovery efforts progress, the organisation encourages donors and supporters to stay engaged. The organisation is expanding its outreach to reach more communities in need during this critical time.
