Flexzo AI Secures £2.5M to Tackle NHS Staffing Costs

Flexzo AI, a healthtech startup, has secured £2.5 million in seed funding from Octopus Ventures, bringing its total investment to £5 million in the past year. The fresh funds will support the expansion of its NHS workforce management platform, which aims to tackle the spiralling costs of bank and agency staffing.

Flexzo AI's platform uses advanced AI infrastructure to enable hospitals to run their own staff banks, standardise pay rates, and optimise workforce planning. This, in turn, helps to reduce reliance on costly agency and bank staffing, a persistent challenge for NHS Trusts.

Founder and CEO Jack Henderson, of Healsgood AI, the company behind Flexzo AI, noted that the NHS has struggled with spiralling bank and agency costs for years. The new funding will support the onboarding of new customers and further research and development, as demand from NHS organisations surges.

With the additional funding, Flexzo AI aims to deliver workforce management at a fraction of the current cost, while improving transparency and conditions for frontline clinicians. Uthish Ranjan, Partner at Octopus Ventures, expressed support for the company's mission to build a more efficient and sustainable healthcare system.
