Felix Neureuther admits to feeling overwhelmed by the extreme tactics he had to endure, stating, "I would have gone insane."

In the latest episode of the popular podcast "Pizza & Pommes", hosts Felix Neureuther and Philipp Nagel welcomed German extreme mountaineer Alexander Huber for a candid discussion about their shared experiences in the world of mountains.

Alexander Huber, born in 1968, is a renowned figure in the extreme sports community, known for his daring climbs and the pioneering of difficult routes. However, his life took a dramatic turn in February 2024 when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. After a successful surgery, the benign tumour was completely removed, but Huber acknowledges that his battle with the illness has left a lasting impact.

Meanwhile, Felix Neureuther, a former ski racer aged 41, has been spending time in the Austrian mountains with his family. He too has had his fair share of challenges, with injuries that required a tough approach to recovery. In discussing his return to sports, Neureuther emphasised his strategy as "pushing himself to the maximum and approaching it with a certain brutality."

Huber, despite his recovery, shares similar sentiments. He mentions that his illness has greatly affected him, but he is determined to continue his passion for extreme sports. Neureuther empathises with Huber's words, relating them to his own experiences of returning to sports after injuries.

The conversation between the three also touched upon the beauty of the mountains and the tragic loss of their mutual friend, ski racer Laura Dahlmeier, who passed away in July. Neureuther expressed his thoughts on the subject, while Huber shared insights from his own perspective as a mountaineer.

The podcast "Pizza & Pommes" is known for its honest and open discussions, and this episode was no exception. The trio shared their highs and lows, offering inspiration and encouragement to listeners who may be facing their own challenges in life.

As Huber continues his recovery and Neureuther navigates his post-injury life, their stories serve as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of passion in overcoming adversity.
