Elon Musk's Drug Use and Health Concerns Raised During Political Engagement

In the midst of his active support for Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, Tesla CEO Elon Musk's consumption of various drugs has been questioned. The "New York Times" reports that his drug use went beyond occasional intake, citing individuals close to Musk.

According to the reports, Musk's drug consumption included the anesthetic ketamine, causing him bladder problems—a known side effect of the drug—and other substances such as ecstasy and hallucinogenic mushrooms. Musk allegedly traveled with a medicine box containing approximately 20 pills, namely Adderall, a stimulant used to treat ADHD, according to the newspaper's sources.

During a press conference at the White House with Donald Trump, Musk did not comment on the allegations but questioned the credibility of the newspaper. Trump expressed no concern, stating, "I'm not worried about Elon." The U.S. President later bid farewell to Musk, who had served as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the White House.

Throughout his career, Musk has been open about his past drug use. In March 2024, he admitted to using ketamine to manage depressive episodes, taking it about once every two weeks. Earlier, he was seen smoking cannabis, which is legal in several U.S. states.

However, during the 2024 campaign, Musk's drug use is said to have escalated. The New York Times investigation points to increasingly erratic behavior behind the scenes, partly attributed to this escalated drug use, and associates reportedly expressed concerns about his substance use, beyond just ketamine but also recreational stimulants and psychedelics.

Chronic ketamine abuse can lead to bladder inflammation and other urinary tract issues, and Musk is said to have admitted to experiencing bladder damage as a result of his frequent use of the drug. The combination of stimulants, psychedelics, and regular ketamine use has been linked to unpredictable and erratic behavior, adding to concerns about Musk's health and professional conduct.

In the past, Musk donated nearly $275 million to Trump's campaign and held a prominent role in government, attending Cabinet meetings, despite increasing concern about his drug use. As the Extent of Musk's drug consumption after taking up his post at the DOGE is unclear.
