District's Cancer Centre Discusses Nutrition for Cancer Patients

The Herford District's Cancer Advisory Center is hosting a free information event on the topic of "Nutrition in Cancer" on October 1, 2025. The event, titled "Nutrition in Cancer: An Informative Session", will take place at the Family Doctor Center in Kirchlengern, Bahnhofstr. 2-4, top floor, from 10:30 to 11:30 am.

The event is aimed at both cancer patients and interested relatives, and will feature a lecture by Madeleine Büscher, an Oecotrophologist at the Kirchlengern Family Doctor Center. The topic of nutrition for prevention or treatment of cancer is widely discussed, and this event offers a valuable opportunity to learn more about the subject.

Cancer patients often feel uncertain about changing their diet, and this event aims to provide clear and practical information to help them make informed decisions. It's important to note that there is no such thing as an "anti-cancer diet", but a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables can help strengthen the immune system and improve defenses.

The "5 a day" fruit and vegetable campaign is a well-known initiative that encourages people to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. This campaign has been shown to have numerous health benefits, including improved immune function and stronger defenses.

The event will take place on a Wednesday, and registration is required by phone at 05223/6530390. The location is accessible via the top floor, and attendees are encouraged to arrive promptly to ensure they don't miss any of the valuable information being presented.

Prof. Dr. Susanne Dörr-Zegers, another Oecotrophologist, will also be giving a lecture on nutrition in cancer on Thursday, October 1, 2025, at a separate event at the Cancer Counseling Center of the District of Herford. This event is also free and open to the public.

In conclusion, the event on October 1, 2025, offers a valuable opportunity for cancer patients and interested individuals to learn more about the role of nutrition in cancer prevention and treatment. Registration is required, so be sure to call 05223/6530390 to secure your spot.
