Declining Interest in Vaccination
In a recent survey conducted by YouGov for "Handelsblatt" on January 24, 617 participants were asked about their opinions on a general vaccine mandate in Germany to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The results of this survey indicate a decrease in support for a vaccine mandate compared to a similar survey conducted on December 2, which had 554 participants. While 71% of respondents backed the introduction of a vaccine mandate in early December, this support has dropped to 59% in the recent survey.
On the other hand, the number of respondents who rejected the vaccine mandate has increased. In early December, 26% of participants rejected the mandate, but in the recent survey, this figure rose to 36%. The share of undecided respondents has also increased, with 6% of participants in the recent survey being undecided, compared to 3% in early December.
It is important to note that the share of respondents who provided an email address in both surveys is not specified. Additionally, the difference in the share of respondents who provided an email address between the recent and early December surveys is not available.
These findings suggest a shift in public opinion regarding a vaccine mandate in Germany since December 2021. However, to determine precise trends, specific polling data or public opinion studies conducted in Germany over that period are required. For authoritative insights, one might consult German public health institutes or polling organizations that tracked attitudes during the pandemic.
