County debuts community health exhibition
Neuwied County's Inaugural Health Fair Focuses on Aging Well
In a concerted effort to bolster the region's healthcare infrastructure, Landrat Achim Hallerbach of County Neuwied is organizing the district's first health fair. Scheduled for March 23, 2025, at Bürgerhaus St. Katharinen, the event will run from 11 am to 5 pm and is free for all.
A diverse roster of 37 exhibitors will offer products, services, and information related to the fair's theme, "Aging - Fit & Healthy." The event will encompass a wide range of topics, such as fitness, mobility, relaxation, and healthy nutrition. Attendees can expect guidance on physical and mental health, alternatives for senior living, and engagement in general well-being.
In addition to informational booths, the health fair promises expert lectures, performances, and interactive activities to engage visitors. Regional products will be featured in the catering offerings.
According to Landrat Achim Hallerbach, the health fair is the prelude to a broader initiative, the "Week of Participation" from March 24th to 31st. This countywide project in cooperation with the Verbandsgemeinde Linz is set to unfold an extensive program across all municipalities.
Since joining the Gesundheitsregion KölnBonn e.V. in 2018, Neuwied County has seen success in health portal management, coordination offices, and comprehensive care structure planning. The digital care structure map, the care placement exchange, and the commitment to reliable hospital planning and sufficient investment funding underscore the county's unwavering support for medical care within its borders.
Other major objectives on Landrat Hallerbach's agenda include reinforcing intersectoral care centers, strengthening emergency care, expanding the rescue service and telemedicine, ensuring night flight licenses for rescue helicopters, and launching a county-wide app-based first aider system called 'HeartSafe.' Neuwied County also aspires to become a cooperation partner of the further education association 'Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.'
Landrat Hallerbach sees the state as playing a critical role in ensuring reliable hospital planning and adequate funding. For now, the focus is on the upcoming health fair on March 23rd, as the Landrat invites everyone to take a step towards better health and well-being: "Join us for more insight into leading vibrant, healthy lives as we look forward to seeing you!"
The district's health fair, "Aging - Fit & Healthy!," will serve as the launch pad for the "Week of Participation," offering diverse opportunities to learn, engage, and connect regarding healthy aging and preventive care. Attendees can anticipate informational booths, health screenings, expert talks, workshops, interactive activities, and resource connections, catering to older adults and those seeking to maintain their well-being. For specific details on the schedule of events or a complete list of activities, checking the official event page or contacting Bürgerhaus St. Katharinen is recommended.
Attendees of the health fair can expect discussions on topics such as fitness and exercise, as part of the wide range of subjects relevant to aging healthfully. The fair also includes exhibitors offering products and services related to health-and-wellness, science, and sports, catering to those seeking to maintain their well-being.
