In the ever-evolving landscape of the tech industry, a growing number of companies are stepping up to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Here are some of the leading companies that are making a difference.

The Coca-Cola Company, a household name, has been a staunch ally for over a decade, receiving a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index every year since 2006. The company offers transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, demonstrating its commitment to inclusivity.

Home Chef, a popular meal kit service, is another proud supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. The company sponsors its LGBTQIA+ employee resource group, CookOUT, and actively promotes diversity and inclusion within its ranks.

Grindr, a well-known dating app, offers a platform for members of the gay, bisexual, transgender, and other queer communities to connect and explore dating options. Grindr's visual content algorithm promotes diversity and inclusion in relationship-based search terms, fostering a more inclusive environment.

Tapestry, the parent company of Coach and Kate Spade, hosts its "Prouder Together" employee resource group and offers gender-affirming care, including hormone therapy, primary care, and mental health support.

The Bostock v. Clayton County Supreme Court ruling of 2021 confirmed that the prohibition against sex discrimination in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also includes employment discrimination against individuals on the basis of sexual orientation or transgender status. This landmark decision has further emphasised the importance of inclusivity in the workplace.

Clari, a tech company that provides enterprise-level technology, has an employee resource group dedicated to empowering the LGBTQ+ community. Their solutions help businesses enhance sales productivity and pipeline management.

Toast, a retail software company, has several employee resource groups, including Multigrain, a community for LGBTQIA+ Toasters and allies.

A host of other tech companies, including Addepar, IBM, PayPal, Getty Images, Skillshare, QuickBase, Workhuman, Sprout Social, Cencora, Hinge, Braze, Trupanion, Skillshare, Adyen, Mission Cloud, Oracle, Alto Pharmacy, Northwestern Mutual, Achieve, VelocityEHS, Optimum, LogicMonitor, are also actively supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

SonderMind, a mental health service, provides inclusive and empowering care for LGBTQ+ patients and has published a comprehensive pillar page on sexuality, gender, and mental health. Upside, a retail software company, has an executive-sponsored Affinity Group Up+Pride group that hosts activities such as a book club and Drag Queen Bingo.

However, despite these strides, the tech industry still faces issues with lack of resources, poor protections, and ignorance that cause many people to fall through the cracks. The Predictive Index, an HR tech platform, prioritizes DEI efforts and has an employee resource group called Queer@PI.

SciPlay, a game developer and publisher, has an employee resource group dedicated to creating a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. The Harry's leadership team has also taken steps to celebrate Pride while social distancing and has a donation match program for LGBTQ+ organisations.

Adobe's "Adobe For All" campaign encourages the company's development and support of LGBTQ initiatives and has received recognition as a "Best Place to Work" for LGBTQ+ Equality. Novo Nordisk, a pharmaceutical company, conducts clinical trials across the globe and has established employee resource groups to support LBTQIA+ employees and their allies.

Wipfli, an accounting and advisory firm, offers digital solutions to businesses and ranks in "Vault's Best Internships for Diversity." CSC, a consulting services and software solutions company, has established multiple employee groups focused on inclusivity, including CSC Proud, which promotes awareness and belonging for the company's LGBTQ+ professionals.

Grubhub has impacted LGBTQ+ owned businesses nationwide through its partnership with the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. Comcast Advertising has an OUT@Comcast employee resource group and partnered with the LGBT Technology Institute as part of its Digital Navigators initiative.

LogicMonitor has an employee resource group called Pride @ LM that focuses on LGBTQ+ inclusion and has partnered with Project Transitions, an Austin-based nonprofit. IBM, a pioneer in the fight for LGBTQ rights, added sexual orientation to its non-discrimination policy in 1984, began providing Domestic Partner Benefits in 1996, and added "gender identity or expression" to its Equal Opportunity Policy in 2002.

Motive, a productivity and security platform, has an employee resource group called MoPride. AlertMedia, a platform that provides businesses with solutions for identifying and responding to threats, has established an employee resource group dedicated to creating a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community.

Intelsat, a provider of broadband connectivity to the commercial aviation industry, has an employee resource group called PRIDE@Intelsat that works to bring awareness to LGBTQ+ challenges around the world.

Zeta Global, a cloud-based software platform, has an employee resource group called Zeta Pride that serves as a safe, affirming community for LGBTQIA+ employees and allies. Smartbear, a software development company, released a series of blog posts centered on their LGBTQ+ leaders and team members during Pride month.

Despite the progress made, many members of the LGBTQ+ community still face discrimination in the workplace. Duda, Inc. has a donation match program of up to $200 in annual employee donations to organizations like the Matthew Shepard Foundation, True Colors United, the Transgender Law Center, and other organizations.

Companies like Bounteous, Sprout Social, Addepar, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Block, PatientPoint, EchoStar, GameChanger, Thumbtack, The PNC Financial Services Group, Getty Images, Cencora, Hinge, PayPal, Braze, Trupanion, Skillshare, Adyen, Mission Cloud, Oracle, Alto Pharmacy, Northwestern Mutual, Achieve, VelocityEHS, Optimum, LogicMonitor have taken steps to ensure that people of all sexualities and gender expressions are celebrated and empowered all year round.

However, it's important to note that some companies have been criticised for "pinkwashing," utilizing Pride aesthetics for marketing purposes without making tangible commitments towards pursuing LGBTQ+ equality. Canva, a design platform, has a visual content algorithm that promotes diversity and inclusion in relationship-based search terms and a pride collection of templates and photos.

Bullhorn, a recruitment software company, has an employee resource group dedicated to empowering the LGBTQ+ community. Companies in Silicon Valley are active all year round, not just in June, to promote equality and freedom for all regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity because diversity and inclusion are deeply embedded in their culture and values, and they strive to create an environment where every individual can be recognised and thrive continuously, not only during Pride Month.
