Charity event for pancreatic cancer support set in Middleton will commense
The 12th annual Roll & Stroll fundraiser, organised by the dedicated volunteers of the Pancreas Cancer Task Force, will take place on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Capital Brewery, Middleton, WI. The event, hosted by UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, aims to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research and patient support.
The Roll & Stroll fundraiser invites the public to participate by walking, running, or biking to support the cause. This year's goal is to raise an impressive $150,000. The event begins with registration and check-in at 8:30 a.m., and continues until 3:00 p.m.
Participants can choose from a variety of bike rides, including a 50-kilometer, 25-kilometer, or five-kilometer ride. The event emphasises the urgent need for pancreatic cancer research, with a dismal 5-year survival rate of about 13% and the disease accounting for nearly 8.5% of all cancer deaths nationally.
The funds raised will directly benefit the UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, with 100% of donations staying local. The Pancreas Cancer Task Force is committed to supporting pancreas cancer patients throughout their cancer journey. Dr. Noelle LoConte, a medical oncologist at Carbone, stresses the importance of research for pancreatic cancer.
Paige Zezulka, chair of Roll & Stroll 2025, expresses her gratitude to those contributing their time, energy, and money to the event. The Pancreas Cancer Task Force is a group of volunteers dedicated to ending pancreas cancer, and the Roll & Stroll event is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
Registration and check-in for the event will take place on the day at Capital Brewery. For those interested in supporting or attending, arriving early on August 10 is recommended. Donations can be made at the event or through associated channels supporting the Pancreas Cancer Task Force and UW Carbone Cancer Center.
