Just mere days prior, Hannes F. was pleading for financial aid for his mother's funeral ceremonies. Now, this 22-year-old manual laborer finds himself behind bars, suspected of murdering his mother, Alexandra Froehlich (58), a famed author and journalist. In his desperate appeal, Hannes F. penned: "Mother-slain-destitute-funeral-aiding-vital." Yet, it seems the police have yet to uncover any evidence pointing to a gunshot wound. Alarmingly, reports indicate Froehlich succumbed to fatal battering. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the nature of the deadly impact, rumors persist that Hannes' fists may have been the source.

A Colleague Cherished - Alexandra Froehlich

Alexandra Froehlich, affectionately referred to by her peers as "Alex," spent years honing her craft as a freelance journalist, and chief editor for several well-regarded women's publications, including "Petra" and "Freundin." Reminiscing on her, another colleague shares: "She had an uncanny ability to inject humor into the darkest situations, always radiating positivity. Working with her was a true delight."

LifeSubjected Froehlich to more misery than most, with her first husband meeting a tragic demise, leaving her to raise her son alone. Later, she embarked on a tumultuous relationship with a Russian theater actor, resulting in the birth of twins, a failed union, and her partner's untimely death from cardiac arrest. Froehlich gaining national acclaim from her best-selling autobiography "My Russian Mother-in-Law and Other Calamities" (2012), where she candidly documented her tumultuous life experiences. Her warm relationship with her actual mother-in-law, "Babuschka," is also well-documented. Later works such as "Death is Always an Option" and "Something's Fishy" cemented her status as a literary force to be reckoned with.

Up until her gruesome demise on April 22, Froehlich resided on a houseboat in Hamburg.

Those close to the Froehlich family express disbelief at the notion of Hannes being capable of such a vile act. "He's got a good heart," a friend of the mother beams about the son. A modest €319 was amassed through donations for the funeral expenses. The investigation remains underway, with investigators anticipating several additional months to uncover the truth behind the tragic event. Froehlich once mused in an interview: "Lurking beneath the surface of even the most idyllic of family dynamics are deep, worm-ridden abysses."
