Art Exhibition Spotlights terminal Cancer Survivor's Abstract Paintings

After being diagnosed with stage four cancer and given three months to live while living with Parkinson's Disease for over two decades, Michael Kiely chose to paint. The ever-resilient Kiely has since produced approximately 600 abstract paintings, a testament to his indomitable spirit.

Jessica Kiely, Michael's devoted daughter, has curated a selection of his works to honor her father's dying wish of exhibiting his art publicly. The upcoming exhibition, "MY KIDS COULD DO THAT," will mark the first time Michael's art is accessible to the public for viewing and purchase.

The ticketed event, scheduled for October 30, will showcase 48 of his artworks at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney's Circular Quay. A portion of the profits will be donated to Parkinson's NSW. According to Michael, "Do yourself and an old man a favor, buy my art before I die. I want to see these pieces going home with people. And just think, as soon as I cark it, they all become limited edition."

Each ticket sale contributes 50 percent directly to Parkinsons NSW, an amount designed to aid those afflicted by Parkinson's Disease. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the official website.
