Amended EMS Accord
The Sheridan City Council is set to discuss and potentially approve an amendment to the joint agreement for emergency medical services (EMS) between the City of Sheridan and Sheridan County. Known as "Amendment B", this proposal is aimed at securing two new ambulances for the region over the next two years.
The need for additional ambulance resources was identified in a meeting earlier this year involving all parties of the EMS agreement. City Attorney Brad Thimmesch proposed the City Council approve Amendment B to address this need, following discussions with Wyoming Regional EMS and the Sheridan County Commission. Both parties have already given their approval to the amendment.
Amendment B modifies the existing EMS agreement, with the aim of formalising the acquisition and integration of the new ambulances into the service fleet. This move is a response to growing service needs and operational capacity improvements, designed to enhance emergency response and ambulance availability for the community.
The amendment adds provisions to the joint EMS agreement, ensuring that all parties are in agreement on the development and its funding, management, or logistical arrangements. This includes the procurement and operational deployment of the two new ambulances.
The purpose of Amendment B is to update the EMS joint agreement to include the addition of two new ambulances. This will help improve emergency medical response capabilities for Sheridan County and the City of Sheridan, served by Wyoming Regional EMS. By formalising this commitment and framework, the region will be better equipped to meet the demand for ambulance transport and emergency care.
The City Council is expected to discuss and potentially approve Amendment B at the next regular business meeting. This meeting is an opportunity for the council to review the proposed changes and make an informed decision on the amendment's implementation.

City Council members will discuss the science-backed health-and-wellness proposal, Amendment B, during the upcoming meeting. This amendment, already approved by the county commission, aims to secure two new ambulances for the region, as per the recommendations from Wyoming Regional EMS.
The newly acquired ambulances will be integrated into the service fleet as part of Amendment B's objective, which is to improve the county's emergency response and ambulance availability through operational capacity improvements.
