Aging of the Soul: An Exploration of Spiritual Evolution

Life, according to spiritual teacher Michael, is a learning game that unfolds in a predictable cycle for the soul. Each soul - a spark of consciousness - embarks on a journey, casting itself out from its birthplace, the Tao or God, and merging with a group of other souls.

This group, called an entity, consists of approximately 1,000 souls, and they are loosely bound together in larger groups known as cadres. Each soul first checks out prospective planets, exploring them in a devic form, which is an intelligent energy being without a physical body. If the entity agrees on beginning physical life, each soul slows its energy to become solid and start incarnating on Earth.

Individual souls experience countless lifetimes, accumulating wisdom, knowledge, and experience. All this shared information deepens the connection within the entity. Each soul's growth cycle on Earth typically takes hundreds of years as they gradually incarnate as human beings.

Before taking a body, each soul determines factors such as culture, parents, body type, sex, and personality. Souls often choose to be close to their entity mates to have supportive companionship. Each physical plane existence changes and deepens the soul's perspective, and they progress through several developmental stages.

Infant souls, newly cast out from the Tao, are characterized by constant learning and survival struggles. They often live in primitive conditions, and survival is their primary concern. As they grow older, souls develop the Baby, Young, Mature, and Old stages, each offering unique lessons and experiences. Michael emphasizes that each stage is distinct but not better or worse than the others, and they all play an essential role in the game we have chosen to play.

Infant souls cluster around the equator due to the simpler aspects of survival in the consistent climate. Earth is nearing the end of the Infant Soul era, with fewer new souls beginning their cycles. As more souls join the Mature stages, the gap between newcomers and mainstream consciousness becomes larger, creating a challenging catch-up game for new souls.

In the Mature phase, souls grapple with challenging emotional and intellectual issues. Creativity blooms, and philosophy and art become more prominent. The period is marked by exploration, inner turmoil, and quests for understanding. As humans near the end of our Earthly journey, Mature souls begin teaching others, becoming guides and mentors.

Eventually, an Old Soul age is reached, where souls perceive their interconnectedness, focusing on harmony and peace. Old souls tend to be spiritually focused, introspective, and usually find inner fulfillment rather than seeking external validation. They often work in fields such as teaching, counseling, and spirituality, sharing their wisdom with others.

Some souls transcend the human experience and become transcendental or infinite souls, representing divine wisdom and love. These souls occasionally incarnate into human bodies for teaching purposes. Their teachings emphasize the connectedness of all beings and the importance of love and inner peace.

Through surrender and inner awakening, the soul grows and learns, casting off attachments and fears, and gradually merging back into the oneness of the Tao. According to Michael, Earth is a long, complex game filled with lessons and opportunities for learning and growth.

Souls, having exhausted their Infant phase, enter the Mature stage, grappling with emotional and intellectual tribulations, fostering creativity in art, philosophy, and exploration. As the equatorial Infant soul era wanes, Earth's landscape witnesses a growing disparity between newcomers and the Mature souls, making the adjustment a taxing endeavor.

The Mature phase paves the way for the Old Soul age, where souls recognize and prioritize their interconnectedness, pursuing harmony and inner peace. These elders, in turn, often seek vocations in teaching, counseling, or spirituality, bestowing wisdom to others.

Some souls evolve even further, becoming transcendental or infinite, personifying divine wisdom and love. Transcendental souls occasionally reincarnate into human forms as guides, imparting teachings that underscore the unity of all beings and the essence of love and inner peace.

In this cosmic game of life and learning, as advocated by Michael, each soul embarks on a journey, seeking knowledge and experience, while striving for healing, consciousness, and growth in the vast expanse of the universe, constantly guided by the impartial, eternal ether.
